Catheter Care

AIMS

The catheter care course is for care staff.

Course Criteria  ~  3hrs

During the catheter carecourse participating delegates will receive both theoretical and practical instruction using anatomically correct manikins. This allows confidence to be gained before conducting the procedure with patients. Knowledge & Understanding of:-

-  Anatomy & physiology

-  Equipment

-  Procedure – theory, demonstration &

-  Practice with manikins

-  How  & When to change a Catheter bag

-  Different types of Catheter Bags

-  Infection Control

-  Signs of Infection

-  Independance & Dignity

-  Reporting Concerns 

-  Fluid Balance

-  Good Hydration
