Epilespsy Awareness

Epilespsy Awareness including Buccal

AIMS

The course serves several important purposes, primarily aimed at educating individuals about epilepsy, its management and how to support those living with the condition.  Here are some of the key purposes of attending an epilepsy course:

  1. Understanding epilepsy: Epilepsy courses provide in-depth knowledge about epilepsy as a medical condition, its causes, types, and the underlying neurological mechanisms. This understanding helps dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding epilepsy.
  2. Recognising seizures: Participants learn to recognize the different types of seizures and their manifestations. This knowledge is crucial to respond appropriately and provide timely assistance during a seizure episode.
  3. Providing first aid: Knowing how to administer first aid during a seizure can help minimize the risk of injury and ensure the safety of the person experiencing the seizure. Participants learn how to respond effectively in such situations.
